Hitting the Beat

Evie and Harper were out training on the city streets again this weekend - meeting the locals who were out shopping and eating ice cream! I REALLY wanted to stop and get some too...

We stopped and visited with a young gal in a wheelchair today while we were out walking. The adults with her were happy to help with Evie's training, so we worked calm greetings with "no lick". One of the things I appreciate about Evie's personality is that what she does do, she does wholeheartedly! She was all into her training today and I felt like a proud dog-mom. Of course, she was doing all the work, I was just supervising!

We also hung out by the local Co-op on the benches...practicing quiet lying down can be tough for go-getter Evie, but she did it like a champ today. She was allowed to greet some people walking by and asked to sit still without being pet with others. To those of you who had to walk by, I'm sorry. Catch us next time! To the giggly girls who stopped by and helped me give Evie a real workout on self-control, THANK YOU! :) ​

The girls in our Gold Select program don't don their working vests in public until they've gotten a solid handle on Basic Obedience. In a couple weeks, the girls will start their classwork and work to earn their AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction! Yep, proud puppy-mom. 

​Don't despair though - no puppy is perfect! Evie and Harper have their moments just like any other pre-teen pup. :)

Summer Puppies! 

Exciting news on the horizon...Charlie and Bonnie Sue will be bred in the next two weeks and we'll be expecting puppies this July. While the formal reservations are full, if you're hoping for a summer puppy, please just let us know. At times, we'll have more puppies than expected and the waiting list is already started. 

We'll also be releasing our tentative breeding plans for Fall 2018 in the near future, so there's still time to jump on board this year with us. To start the process, please fill out our Puppy Application and we'll be sure to contact you within 24-48 hours. 

With only a limited number of puppies that can go through our Gold Select training program at a time, don't hesitate to let us know if you'd like to have your puppy trained before they go home with you. We'll work together to find the right puppy to match with your family and the right amount of time until the training torch is passed on to you. :) ​
