Timber - Nadia/Silas 2013
Good evening Rhonda, it has been forever since we have emailed. We wanted to give you an update on Timber (Mr. Black from Nadia and Silas' 2013 fall litter). He is 9 months old now and still so much a pup, pup, puppy (I can still hear your voice saying that) :) He loves socks and shoes and of course thinks he's doing a huge favor by retrieving them for us, also landscape fabric is quite fun to see how much comes up in one tug and his favorite chew item is= rocks. He carries the biggest, heaviest rocks around the yard, we are not sure how he manages it but he loves to move them around, just trying to be helpful I guess and oh, the occasional June bug is fun to torment. He loves walks and exploring around the yard and tries really hard to figure out the striped gopher that is eluding him zig zagging in and out of the limestone rock wall, wonder if he will ever catch it?. He loves to ride in our ranger, sits in the seat just like a big kid. He also loves to sit in human laps except he is getting too big for it but he doesn't know that so he just plunks himself down and sits there like it is supposed to be. I recently placed a metal black and white pig in one of the gardens and he doesn't like that pig, barking at it, thinking it is something real and he should get it to move or do something...too funny.
Timber loves to be hugged and talked too, loves attention and for people to notice him. He's a leaner, he has discovered that if he leans into you he can get a few more rubs, pets and scratches out of you. Elijah's 2nd grade class fell in love with him as a puppy so we had 4 visits throughout the school year and he became sort of their mascot. He was in numerous pictures for their end of the year celebration slideshow. Whenever we are out and about, there is usually a 2nd grader coming running towards us yelling "Timber"....he really adores children.
Also when we are out about, many adults ask us, What kind of dog is he? they are a bit taken by his color since he is not a typical looking golden retriever. Then you hear how pretty he is and he is SOOOOO beautiful and they are spot on with that, he is SOOOO beautiful! The contrast between his white coat and his mesmerizing dark brown eyes is something down right mystical. Just as we pictured him looking when we picked him out.
Well, I could go on and on about his funny tendencies and how special he is to us, just wanted you to know he is loved by two great kids and two pet parents and is living a sweet life here in Spring Grove, he has access with us to 150 acres of nature, gets lots of exercise and makes us better humans by being in our life. It sure is amazing what Snitker Goldens can do for people, we know that more today than any other, it is the 1 year anniversary of our 1st golden retriever Oakley's passing. We so appreciate Timber and are thankful for the gift that you gave us. He is so much more than just a dog. THANKS! Love, the Solums
