Danny (Coco/Silas 2018) had a 17 wk check and final shots. He’s a big boy: 48.1# (Opie at this age was 38.1). Lol. His paws and legs are large and thick! Vet said perfect weight - has a very visible waist and can easily feel ribs. I wish I could say the same! Danny seems much quicker AT THIS AGE than Opie (Charlie/Silas 2016) was. He is definitely more confident and inquisitive.
The two are inseparable. So pleased (and proud!) to walk our two together. There is never a time in public that someone doesn’t ask “what are they” or “can we pet them?” Must be awesome to have a passionate business, that everyone LOVES the product. LOL Hope all is well with your young family. I imagine little Baby Kelley is a growin. - Danny & Opie's Parents :)

A really darling note from a Fabi son and his family.
Dear Momma Fabi,
Although I have been with my forever family for eight weeks now, I wanted to write to wish you a very happy Mother's Day. I think about you and my sisters often, and Rhonda and Stephanie too. You would all be so proud of what a good boy I have been since leaving Iowa! My new family absolutely loves me, and tells me so often what a good boy I am. I also get about a million kisses and cuddles a day from my new human momma, two sisters and brother, so I'm pretty sure they think I'm a nice addition to the family. (My human daddy thinks I'm great too, but just isn't into kissing dogs. Whatever.) I am so eager to please and have been doing so well with my training. I am getting great grades at my puppy kindergarten class, and am mastering all of my new commands quickly. I am more handsome every day and have an incredibly calm disposition. Thank you for being such a loving momma last winter. I am clearly the son of a kind, smart, loyal and beautiful mother. Please give my best to Rhonda and Stephanie. Their intense imprinting philosophy made all the difference in the kind of boy I am. My new owners love nothing more than the "watch me" command they taught me. I love you forever and hope that springtime in Waukon is treating you and all my Snitker family well. With much love, Your son, Louie Be Social!
Our family is overjoyed with Heidi! We brought her home in March 2018, and she is already an integral part of our lives. Connecting with Rhonda and Stephanie at Snitker Goldens was exactly the right move for finding a young adult Golden that has met all of our needs. Heidi came to us so beautifully trained and so perfectly loving that we have already started working with her in local assisted living facilities and memory care centers. She spreads joy wherever she goes -- oohs and ahhs about how pretty she is and then more compliments about her sweet nature. Heidi moves from resident to resident looking to be pet, and the memory care residents reminisce about their own dogs from years past.
We are so in love with this sweet girl that my husband said the other day, "I think Heidi needs a sibling!" Thank you Snitker Goldens for placing Heidi in our care. Sincerely, Kari Nelson and family South-Central Wisconsin To learn more about our trained Golden Retrievers, please visit the Gold Select page. Be Social!
Hi Rhonda and Stephanie,
Just wanted to give you an update on Louie(Mr. Green). He is doing great and is a wonderful addition to our family. We can’t believe how fast he is growing and how quickly he is progressing in many areas. His house training is going very well and he has started to go to the front door to let us know it’s time to go out. We are still working on walking with the leash, but he is really enjoying getting out for some walks with the other dogs in our family. He still likes to hit the brakes at times, but he is getting more confident every day. Everywhere he goes he goes he has lots of admirers. He pretty much brought our entire vet’s office to a standstill when he had his first visit. The entire staff had to stop and take a turn holding him. Everyone was amazed at how calm and handsome he is. He pretty much charms everyone he meets. He definitely has our entire family wrapped around his finger! We have commented several times how truly special Snitker Goldens are and how lucky we are to have one. Louie is a fantastic addition to our family and we thank you very much for giving him such a great start! Sincerely, the Werner family
What a fun litter this Coco/Silas bunch was for us - their first pairing ever! Check out the Our Puppies page to see our current pups or email us to learn when we'll be pairing this exceptional parents again!
Be Social!Good morning Stephanie. I hope you and the baby are getting along well and are both healthy. Good day for snugglin’; damp and cold outside. Danny had his 2nd check up and as suspected he is one mighty fine healthy pup! Our vet, has all four Snitker dogs (Piper, Opie, Keeley, and Danny). He made a comment AGAIN today - “these Snitker pups are really specials guys." I thought you would like to hear his compliment. At one day shy of 13 wks. Danny weighed in at 31.7#. Our vet said he’s going to be a big boy. You should see his THICK legs!! He still has a trim waist - so vet said his weight is fine. We have made it thru the night without having to go outside for about a week now. He gets his dinner about 4:30. He plays with us til about 8-8:30 and goes to bed in his pen. Don takes him out between 11-11:30 and from that point sleeps with the pack free in our bedroom. He knows his routine because he runs down the hall to our bedroom. Danny has been quicker to investigate sounds and movement than Opie was at this age. His personality seems more assertive - but in such a sweet way. He will easily sit on command, come by his name and “say hello” (shake paw). He LOVES baths! Yeah! He is a pro at snugglin’ Again, the right dog for the right family. Rhonda has an excellent sense for matching these little guys with us big guys. Ha! Our boys are inseparable. This weekend is Don’s last church service and we begin a new chapter called retirement. I couldn’t imagine going forward without our guys. Love, love love my boys. Don asked if he was “one of the boys.” Yup, love you too Don. I know Danny is Coco’s first litter so I’ll periodically send you pictures. Greet Rhonda for me! Daisy is wonderful. She's like having our personal ball of sunshine. She's lively and full of beans, but also very mellow and cooperative. She's good on walks, plays well with other dogs, knows her sit/down/wait/come/give me 5 & give me the other 5/drop it/and more. We take her to work with us, which seems to be great fun for her, for us, and for our employees! In short, we totally love her and are so glad she's with us. Thank you for choosing "Miss Pink" for us! The attached photos are mostly from work - in one, she's wearing a winter cap we had made for our business. The glamour head shot is from right after a bath. The pose with the big stick is pretty characteristic - she's got quite a collection! The little purple duck is one of her favorite toys. And the big chair at work was once my special nap spot, but it's hers now! I hope you enjoy the pictures. Best wishes to you and all your family I cannot believe he is almost a year old! It really does seem like yesterday we were pulling up to the farm and saw "Mr. Blue" run right up to us as if to say "HI MOM AND DAD"!! Louie is such a dream. He is so well behaved and loves, loves, loves to learn. He lives to swim, per his breed, and absolutely loves to play fetch. He has mastered his "retrieve" command and makes us so proud knowing he thoroughly enjoys working for us! Louie comes to work with me everyday and has been promoted to "Social Director" of the kennel. :) He is so friendly with all dogs, big or small, and has such a gentle touch with people and children. He definitely is a Momma's boy and is literally referred to as my shadow. He follows close behind and waits for me outside the bathroom or shower. He settles down at my feet wherever I am and makes me feel like the center of his universe. ( What more could I ask for?) It amazes me everyday what a wonderful dog he has become and I get complimented on his temperament and handsomeness daily. He tested out of his basic obedience course and our next step is to enroll him in the Canine Good Citizen program. He makes us so happy every day, it's hard to imagine our life without him now! Hope all is well on the Snitker Golden front! Many well wishes to you and yours and all those new Snitker pups! Best, Katy, Nik and Louie Dear Rhonda and Stephanie, The idea of me writing an update on a Snitker Golden seems unbelievable. The fact that I am writing that update while my Snitker Golden sleeps at my feet is even more unbelievable. Five years ago as the newest Snitker Golden team member, I stepped foot in the puppy barn and was amazed by all the sights, sounds, and smells. Ever so carefully handling my first Snitker Golden pup that night, my heart almost burst. I didn’t know it was possible to love such a tiny creature that much. Until one holds one of these pups in their arms, it is hard to describe just how much love and imprinting goes into them. From each careful ENS exercise to cleaning their messy faces after a well-enjoyed meal of gruel, nothing happens without every ounce of determinedness and love of which you are capable. As a behind the scenes gal, I had gotten quite used to that side of the Snitker Goldens family. It is hard work and there were days where I just didn’t know what to do with myself but it is OH so rewarding seeing those pups go home to their families. That first day at the Snitker farm, I knew someday I would call one of these Goldens my own. I could barely stand to wait. Fast forward five years and that time has come when I least expected it. Being contacted about possibly being able to bring one of these puppies home still seems like a dream. I spent so many nights praying and wishing it would be the year I’d get my beloved puppy. Getting the call from Rhonda was a dream come true and a prayer answered. When I met the Fabi Five I was very clear that Mister Yellow (Goose) was not the right fit for me. He was too boisterous and to be frank, too much boy. I had always pictured myself with a sweet, quiet girl and Mister Yellow was anything but. However, after meeting the litter I could not stop picturing myself with him. The day I picked him up he gave me the gentlest and longest lick on my nose and I knew he was the right one for me. Rhonda, you sure do know how to match pups with people. The past four and a half months with him have been absolutely crazy. I mean that in all the good ways. Ha! He really is my perfect puppy. He has slept through the night since night one and was very quick to house break. Goose is loving, stubborn, opinionated, funny, loud, and so much more. Everywhere we go he is complimented and I am asked from where he came. I am not surprised when people respond “Oh! I’ve heard such good things about them!” when I say he is a Snitker Golden. People are constantly in awe of his temperament, his coat, and his head. We get more compliments on his head than one might believe haha. Soon Goose will be entering into obedience courses and eventually will be in training to be a therapy dog. Currently he is an emotional support animal for myself and I cannot imagine my life without him. He has been so good for me. As I think back on all the pups I wished I could bring home with me, I realize they weren’t the ones my heart needed. The one I needed is the one I have; my floppy, clumsy, all boy, Goose. Much love always, Hannah & Goose Hi Rhonda and Stephanie, I wanted to send you an update about our dynamic duo, Luke and Lucy!!! We couldn't have asked for a better match for our daughters! Luke is laid back and really easy going. A perfect fit for our older daughter, Hayden. On the flip side, Lucy has tons of personality and is really spunky. She is the perfect match for our daughter, Callie. They have really settled in nicely and are the perfect fit for our family!! We rang in the New Year at a cabin in the mountains of Georgia. It was a solid 8 hour drive each way. We didn't have one potty accident! We spent a lot of time playing in the huge, open fields behind the cabin. It was fantastic. The family we were traveling with couldn't get over how well behaved they were! You gave us such an amazing start. We couldn't be more thankful! We spent a great deal of time researching options when we decided we wanted to add a puppy to our family. (Which over time ended up turning into two!) It has been such a pleasure working with both of you. Luke and Lucy have exceeded our expectations on every level. To say we love these two is a total understatement. We cannot wait to see how they grow and mature. We will keep you posted with updates and pictures!! Thanks for everything! Brennan Just wanted to get you an update on Fergus and his transition into his forever home. Fergus already has a heart of gold. He is close to mastering the house training and listens most of the time. He started puppy school last week and was best in class when the other puppies didn’t know their names or sit on command! The cats are adjusting and Fergus understands that the cats have different rules! Probably one of his favorite ways to start the day is to go to my teenager son’s room and help me wake him up. He so eager to please and today was his first day with the “puppy nanny.” We are looking forward to warmer weather and watching him continue to grow in his forever home. Thank you for giving that little guy such an awesome start. Jean, Claire and Jimmy And he loves the crate... |
