That’s what my heart felt when I watched the World Vision video shared by a woman one recent Sunday morning during worship. My heart stirred. There’s always a good cause . . . there are always so many needs. . . sometimes I wonder how a person can care so much and feel like we can do so little. . . . but this particular morning, when I watched the children in the video taking water from puddles, walking so far, and finding the water so often contaminated and not safe to drink, I caught my breath . . . . . Later, as I talked about this with my husband, Todd, he stopped me and said, “Your dogs have cleaner water than these children.”
He’s right. My dogs do have cleaner water than what some people have. So, I got to thinking. . . why don’t Goose and I walk? . . . . . I am still in physical therapy with an injured hip from last October’s horse riding accident, but I think I can be ready. . . so. . . . YES, I am joining many others across the world on Saturday, May 6th, 2017 (TEAM DECORAH is hosting on SUNDAY, MAY 7th), for World Vision’s Global 6K for Water, in an event to raise money and awareness for this life-giving cause. And I’d like to invite YOU! In fact, I’d like to invite you and your Snitker Golden (or any other dog) to walk or run in this event. Goose and I are part of TEAM DECORAH, here in NE Iowa, and if you’d like to join me for a day of walking and conversation, please do! Goose and I would love the company. If you can’t come join Goose and me in Decorah, then you can search for a host group near you, or you can plot out your own 6K and walk in your neighborhood.
For more information, please see: Team World Vision.
For specific sign-up information, visit TEAM DECORAH.
If neither of these locations is something you can do, but you’d like to join me in the effort, please feel free to sponsor me (and Goose!) in this event. Sponser Rhonda & Goose.
So please, if you are unable to join us, or a team near you, prayerfully consider teaming up with Goose and me on this special project. I hope that you will feel moved to share with us, in any capacity.
Thank you for listening to my heart. I’m already praying for good weather for Sunday, May 7th, and I hope a few of you might be able to join Goose and me for this life-giving event! (Remember to bring clean-up bags if you need them for your dog! Let’s keep it tidy!)
My Very Best to You All,
Rhonda & Goose 🐾
