A big week! Puppies are movin' and shakin' all over the place!
Whoops. . . wrong picture. . . lol. . Last weekend, I was in California for a seminar at Guide Dogs of America with renowned trainer, breeder, and speaker, Suzanne Clothier. What a great time of learning, as well as validation for our program. We truly do work to create an enrichment program that provides our puppies with a foundation for life! Well, enough on the beach. . . I was only there a half hour anyway. . . . darn! I guess back to Iowa and humidity. . . .
Vivi pups saw a big change again in their environment. . . both pens were opened up to mostly play space while they still have access to the outside (turfed area), including different toys and challenges about every day. We'll be taking a swim today, and puppies are visiting the training room this week, as well as continued group and individual handling we'll be doing outside. We're working towards our last week, and puppies will be with Silas for some outdoor play.
And Bonnie Sue puppies are well on their way! They are growing like, what we'd say in Iowa, little piglets! lol. These pups are chubby, with thick little necks and broad faces - clearly we're seeing some of our new genetics at work! Complete with dried gruel on their noses (this is about as hard to remove as dried oatmeal on a child's face) What a great group, and their skills are really building now. . .
And little helpers are there for mealtime once-in-a-while. . .
And from playtime in the puppy barn . . . our play space gets really crazy messy, and we're constantly cleaning it. . . we are pulling out all sorts of things every day. . . sometimes we focus on surfaces, sometimes balls, sometimes paper or plastics, moving things, blinking things, loud things, chairs moving, things sliding, inclines, boxes, ladders . . . you name it! The big tubes and play gym will be coming soon to this group.
And for our Charlie-pup Families!!. . . I know you've been patient . . . It's just that there are only so many napping puppy pictures a gal an take! lol. But don't worry, your Charlie pups are gaining steam, too! They are smaller right now, but still mighty. :) We're just building skills outside of the pen now, working on gruel and getting familiar with activity in the puppy barn play space. Mostly, they like to cry and huddle yet, but it won't be long (just days), and they'll be taking adventures like the rest of them!
We had Charlie-puppy handlers in the puppy barn the other evening. We're so fortunate to have a group of willing little hands to hold and talk to puppies!
Mealtimes?? These Charlie puppies are workin' on gruel. . .
So that's all for now! Thank you for your patience while I returned from California and am now able to play catch up with photos and videos. It takes a village to get this job done at Snitker Goldens. . . . it's a good thing we have one! :D
