"Hunter" speaks to the comfort these dogs have in our everyday lives. I was drawn to his casualness and adaption to his people-environment. My strokes were a a mixture of that period of a pup-turn-young dog stage - capturing the long lankiness that begins in those ever-growing legs, and yet the Golden short-stop nose that just begins to lengthen. I think I was caught in the midst of that stage, wanting to keep this boy young, but knowing that aging was inevitable. I've had a lot of "Hunter(s)" in my life!
This work can stand alone, as the canvas sides are painted a deep gray. Framing available (at additional cost) through The Perfect Edge, Decorah, IA.
