"Here with a blanket you sent with him. He still carries it around. Taken just one week ago." - Micah's Family I just received this image from Micah's family - and I just can't tell you how much it warms my heart! I've been fortunate enough to be able to keep up with Micah's progress; receiving photos, emails, and sweet telephone calls about how special this boy has become to his family. But this image. . . . . oh my goodness, is so worth sharing with everyone. This young boy who is almost five months old is still carrying around his "go-home" blanket of fleece that we sent with him the day he went to live with his forever family, moving from my arms to theirs.
I am continually amazed at how human these young babes are - and how much their hearts remind me of my own . . . all of us. Their potential to feel human emotion and share that with us. . . . just "wow." There's no other word for it. So thank you, thank you! to Micah's family for sharing this image with me so that I could share it with our friends - showing us, once again, how heartfelt are the actions of the Golden Retriever. :) ~rhonda

Bailey, born this past September, was chosen to be trained for therapy - and doing a super job! Here are a few updates from his new family, as he confuses "stay" with "roll over" at just ten weeks of age. . . . Rhonda, we all have fallen in love with him. He is self confident, but does not push to be dominate. He learns so fast. He is kind, sweet and very calm. He knows off, sit, down, come and how to go through 3 dog doors to the back yard, very well. He is very close to mastering stay, roll over, heel, high five and how to play soccer.
I am confident he will be a great therapy dog. Thank you with all our hearts. And as Bailey grows. . . . here's another update. . . Bailey is a sweetheart and we are so happy he is in our life. Overall, he is doing a fantastic job. We are working on heeling and staying for 1 min while I am out of sight. We have an agility course (the small agility in a bag set) and Bailey is fearless. The tunnel took no training at all and since he kind of hops around instead of running, jumping through the hoop was a breeze. We are also working on off when he gets excited. We have made great headway by saying off with a turn and ignore. He has mastered: sit, stay, down, leave it, come, roll over, doggy door skill, a bigger command of his environment (put him out the back door and him knows to come back in the dog door). And at 12 weeks of age. . . Bailey is a mouser. We did even know we had any mice and this is the second one he brought and dropped at our feet, still warm and uneaten. Bailey is great advertising for your kennel. Everyone LOVES him and wants to know where we got him. I really could not ask for a better dog. He is loving, eager to please, a great bed time snuggler for Brittany and really smart. Kindest Regards, Joan Good Morning Rhonda!
I just wanted to give you a quick update on Cooper. He had his first Vet visit last Friday, and he was 17.3 pounds! What a chunk! ;) Our Vet thought he looked wonderful, and took him on a tour of the building to "show him off." :) Cooper has settled in quite well in our home. He loves all the attention, and he has become proficient at "sitting," as well as, "waiting" for his meals. He has also adapted really well to his crate. We get him up once a night to go outside, and he has yet to have an accident in it. Such a good boy! He has made many new friends (dogs & people) on our daily walks. He does get a bit anxious if we venture too far from home, but he goes a little farther each day. He definitely loves outside time! I wish it would stop raining already, so we can spend more time playing out there-- it certainly makes house training more of process as well! Anyway, I hope you and your family are well. Our family is certainly loving our new boy!! Thank you again! The Ralphe Family |
