Hi!

Just wanted to thank you and the Snitker Golden family once again for the most amazing pup ever!!!  Wyman is the sweetest and gentleness pup ever. He is so smart he can sit, stay, lay down, shake hands, heal, come, wait,  drop and fetch.

He is a reflection of you and the Snitker family and all the time and love you give these pups before they find their forever family’s. Wyman is so calm and friendly with every toddler he meets, elderly with walkers and people in wheelchairs.  We are so blown away with him.

The
most amazing pup ever!!! Thanks for choosing Jim and I to be his forever family!!!!
PS. He adores his 9 nephews and 2 nieces and they all want to keep him but nana and pa won’t give him up

Hello Snitker family,

Wanted to check in during the midst of this pandemic.  Hoping you are all safe and healthy.  The “brothers” are doing great.  During January, Hawkeye/Hayden spent about 3 weeks training with Anna Childs at Adelhorst Kennels.  She ended up keeping Hayden for another few weeks after that. We got them back home just before the pandemic hit here. Thank goodness.

Anna and her daughter at Adelhorst kennels,  LOVED both of the boys but Hayden captured a special place in their hearts as he has all of us.  Hayden is doing great. We have an “in training” service vest on him.  Before the pandemic hit, we were taking Hayden to nursing homes, group homes and where people with disabilities have day programs.  He was and is doing FABULOUS.  We couldn’t ask for a better boy.  However, right now we are staying home and can’t do service work. We will get back to it once there is a vaccine for this nasty COVID-19.

Hawkeye and Hayden are inseparable.  They sleep together, eat together, play together and follow each other around.  Peas in a pod.  However, we definitely know we picked the wrong name out for Hayden.  He should have been named, porky, piglet, soda, hoagie or biscuit; something “food” related.  He is a pig when it comes to his food bowl.

Here are some pictures of the boys. Hayden has grown from little guy into a big guy.  We love them both dearly and are so blessed to have them and you guys in our lives.

Please stay safe and healthy.

Blessings to all of you, your families and the dogs.

Love, Richard, Lynne Schaefer – Hawkeye and Hayden (bark, bark)

Dear Snitker Goldens Family,

Ryder’s first trip to the beach...loves watching all the things...boats, birds, people swimming in nearby pools, riding in cousin’s jeep...weeeeeee! AND the fireworks (NEXT DOOR) didn’t seem to bother him! Yay! Hurray! Cheers to Snitker Imprinting! Happy Happy Happy!

Ryder has had a great week! He attended his first training class and is already learning to walk on a leash and understanding leash pressure. He was a perfect gentleman. He’s doing really well, and we are so pleased! Imprinting matters! ️

We have returned to the beach for a few days, and Emily enjoyed capturing some photos this evening on the dock. Wanted to share. This boy loves sitting on the dock! Look how big and tall he is! He’s about 25 pounds now, and still calls mealtimes some of the best times of the day!

We send our love and continued thanks for our handsome, wonderful, sweet companion!

I can't believe Maggie is almost a year old! David and I are so in love with her, and it feels like she has been a part of our family forever - we don't know what we ever did without her! In fact, we were just talking recently about having another Snitker Golden join our family as a companion for Maggie at some point. :)

Also just wanted to give you a general update on how everything is going. I honestly can't believe she is almost a year old. It seems like we just brought her home -- time flies! Maggie has been the perfect addition to our family. She is everything we could have hoped for -- smart, healthy, confident, spunky, and sweet as can be.  We absolutely adore her.

The last time we weighed Maggie (maybe a few weeks ago?), she weighed 57 pounds! She is a beautiful dog with a kind, gentle soul, and we are still so impressed by both her intelligence and her temperament. She sailed through formal obedience classes and constantly seeks to learn new things. We have been firm in reinforcing at home what she learned in training, and it is amazing how well she recalls and listens. She is great at loose lead walking, and she loves going to the park to play fetch. We quickly learned that her favorite activity is swimming. If we are near a body of water, Maggie thinks that she needs to be in it. :) We go to the dog beach at least once a week! Maggie loves to go on new adventures and especially loves meeting new people and making new dog friends. She is especially drawn to children, and she often will approach children (if we give her permission) and give them kisses when they stick out their hands. It is so sweet to see how nurturing she is. She is confident, playful, loyal, and gentle, and everyone we meet always comment on how good she is!

BIG thank you to you and everyone at Snitker Goldens. We simply could not have asked for a more perfect puppy for us, and we love her so much!  We look forward to continuing to watch her grow and going on new adventures as a family!

Sharing a couple of fairly recent pictures so you can see how much little Miss Green has grown!

Talk soon,
Hanna

Where do I begin?  Miss personality!  She is socialized all over the western NC mountains. She has been to the a Country Club for lunch. Passed around the golfers. She’s a rock star on Facebook!  She already goes for afternoon walks with three other Goldens (her siblings) and three labs. All her new besties. She’s doing mostly perfect with potty training. She knows sit and down commands. She’s working on come when called. She loves EVERYBODY. She’s a snuggler and is very attentive and kind to get big sister who has cancer.

She, like her big Snitker brother Dickens, is basically perfect because of the wonderful beginning she was given by Rhonda and the entire Snitker family. We love our girl and we love the Snitkers!️

Snitker Goldens is by far the best breeding program we’ve ever worked with. From the very beginning, they were warm and friendly, and it was clear that they are very passionate about their work. What’s most important to Snitker Goldens is that their puppies are placed with the right families, which is caring and responsible. A month after the litter was born, Stephanie sent out a questionnaire for us to complete so that our pup would match well with our family and lifestyle. We’re pretty laid-back and both my husband and I work from home. We’re sort of homebodies and although we like to go on walks, we’re pretty mellow.
Picture
Over the next month, Rhonda watched the litter carefully to make certain that she matched us with the right pup. And did she ever! A perfect match! Charlie is loving, gentle and content to just hang out and play with his toys and as long as he’s around his humans, he’s happy. Snitker Goldens obviously take pride in their Goldens and lovingly choose their families.

Snitker Goldens also does a great job of preparing you for your new life with your pup before the big day. Stephanie sent a suggested shopping list of things that I honestly would have never thought of purchasing, but was very glad I had them on hand. The items on the list are things that Snitker uses, too, so everything was familiar to our new pup, like the treats, for example. I can’t tell you how helpful this shopping list was!

What makes Snitker Goldens so unique, is their Imprinting process. I didn’t fully understand it until we took Charlie home. To start, Charlie was completely crate trained! In fact, it was two short nights and he was sleeping from 9 at night until 6 in the morning. He’s had no accidents in his crate! Charlie also came to us almost completely potty-trained. It was unbelievable. He knew exactly where he was supposed to do his business, and except for a few accidents at home (which were completely our fault for not understanding he has to go out immediately after he eats) he’s been accident-free. Charlie also knows how to “come” and sits patiently, looks you in the eye before he gets his treat. Before he eats, he knows to sit and wait until the food dish is put down.

The day we picked Charlie up, Rhonda Snitker met us in her home and was so welcoming and kind to us. She opened up a crate and pulled Charlie out and we were in love! We spent over an hour with Rhonda and Stephanie, going through paperwork, but mostly they patiently answered our questions. I’ve never felt so much at home as I did at Rhonda’s kitchen table!

We left Iowa that day with a Snitker Goldens bag filled with two weeks of food, supplements, shampoo, a book on training and our new pup’s “blankie” that smelled of home so he wouldn’t get lonely. And our darling puppy, Charlie, of course.

If you’re looking for a golden retriever puppy, I would look no further than Snitker Goldens. From the first communications to the day you drive away with your new puppy, you’ll be so glad you found them!

Bella 2019/ Charlie-Goose litter

Here is an update on Bella. Bella loves to play with my Sheltie Bailey. They have become fast friends. Bella loves to sit on my lap when she wakes up. She loves snuggles then and also at night. She is doing really well with potty training. She sits in front of the door when she wants to go out and let’s me know. She loves to chase blowing leaves on our walks. She is responding to her name and comes running when I call her. She is always excited to see me.  I am so grateful for the awesome beginning Rhonda gave Bella. Her dogs are beautiful and really smart.

Hi Rhonda and Stephanie,

I wanted to send you an update about our dynamic duo, Luke and Lucy!!!  We couldn't have asked for a better match for our daughters!  Luke is laid back and really easy going.  A perfect fit for our older daughter, Hayden.  On the flip side, Lucy has tons of personality and is really spunky.  She is the perfect match for our daughter, Callie.  They have really settled in nicely and are the perfect fit for our family!!

We rang in the New Year at a cabin in the mountains of Georgia.  It was a solid 8 hour drive each way.  We didn't have one potty accident!  We spent a lot of time playing in the huge, open fields behind the cabin.  It was fantastic.  The family we were traveling with couldn't get over how well behaved they were!  You gave us such an amazing start.  We couldn't be more thankful!

We spent a great deal of time researching options when we decided we wanted to add a puppy to our family. (Which over time ended up turning into two!)  It has been such a pleasure working with both of you. Luke and Lucy have exceeded our expectations on every level.  To say we love these two is a total understatement.  We cannot wait to see how they grow and mature.  We will keep you posted with updates and pictures!!

Thanks for everything!
Brennan

Just wanted to get you an update on Fergus and his transition into his forever home. Fergus already has a heart of gold. He is close to mastering the house training and listens most of the time. He started puppy school last week and was best in class when the other puppies didn’t know their names or sit on command!

The cats are adjusting and Fergus understands that the cats have different rules! Probably one of his favorite ways to start the day is to go to my teenager son’s room and help me wake him up.  He so eager to please and today was his first day with the “puppy nanny.”

We are looking forward to warmer weather and watching him continue to grow in his forever home. Thank you for giving that little guy such an awesome start.

Jean, Claire and Jimmy

And he loves the crate...

Hi Rhonda & Stephanie,
Nick and I wanted to share with you an update on Remy’s first few weeks at home. He has completely melted our hearts and has impressed each of us and both of our families with his temperament and eagerness to learn and please. His first night home he slept comfortably in his crate downstairs and we’ve had no issues since with nighttime whining or crying. Remy has also done an outstanding job learning the rules of house training. He knows to sit at the door when he needs to potty and had only a couple of "accidents" his first week at home.

At 10 weeks old Remy has begun to master: sit, come (here), shake (paw), up, down, off, back, leave it (eh-eh), and potty. We start puppy preschool next week and we anticipate Remy being a star student 😊 Beyond basic obedience training, Remy has bonded very well with our other family pets, especially Russell (a two-year-old Silas/Ina pup). Remy is growing like a weed and soon enough he’ll be catching up with the big dogs running around in the valley.

We simply could not have asked for a better puppy and we love him more than ever. Remy is everything we hoped for in a little pup and we thank you and Rhonda so much for all of the time and effort you put into his first eight weeks of life. He is the perfect fit and addition to our little family. We'll be sure to stay in touch and keep you updated on his progress!

Best,

Megan & Nick
